GAVIN GOODMAN
THE POWERFUL SIMPLICITY
OF SYMMETRY

A limited tonal palette and simple yet sharp props combined for a superb photoshoot with a focus on form, colour, and symmetry for South African photographer Gavin Goodman and his team. Taken on the XCD 90mm and X1D II 50C, the final results beautifully illustrate the richness of the shoot’s colours and tones and the power of the mirrorless medium format camera’s ability to capture subtle details in the deepest of shadows. Join Hasselblad for a Virtual Medium Format Meetup featuring photographer Taylor Roades. Taylor is a Vancouver-based commercial and editorial photographer with a passion for travel, focused on the natural world and environmental issues.

We will be diving in and taking a look at some of Taylor’s work, specifically her photos used to protect Old Growth Forests in her home of British Columbia, and commercial photography campaigns for the scientific community. We will also be talking about her choice of medium format tools, including the Hasselblad X System camera. INTERVIEW WITH HASSELBLAD AMBASSADORS
ANNA DEVÍS AND DANIEL RUEDA

4 FEBRUARY 2021
10:00PM EST / 15:00 GMT / 16:00 CET

Hasselblad Ambassadors Anna Devís and Daniel Rueda are two imaginative Spanish photographers, both born in 1990. Having met at the Universitat Politècnica de València, where they both graduated from the School of Architecture, today this creative duo puts to use their architectural backgrounds to tell stories through fun and surprising images that are far from conventional architecture photography, with their particular style characterised by their visual sense of humour, creativity, precision, and a delicate aesthetic inspired by the city, geometry, and minimalism.

Although it may seem surprising or hard to believe, besides some basic image processing, Anna and Daniel create these surreal scenes without the use of photo editing software. Instead, they carefully set the scene in real life using all sorts of everyday objects, unexpected locations, and tons of natural light.

We'll be speaking to Anna and Daniel about their images, and as usual, the webinar will be an opportunity to ask questions as part of a live presentation. Register here.
